Intimate Rafter Six and Teatro Wedding
An intimate wedding at Rafter Six and Teatro beautifully blending two cultures
Amelia and Edward’s Intimate Rafter Six And Teatro Wedding – The First Look
Amelia and Edward planned an intimate wedding at Rafter Six Ranch and Teatro in July of 2026. It was a hot and hazy summer day in July. They planned their wedding in a short time, but filled with intention nonetheless. Amelia and Edward thoughtfully blended their cultures together as an integral part of their day. Another important aspect of the day was to include their two dogs in their first look and ceremony. This is why Rafter Six Ranch in Exshaw was the perfect place for their ceremony. The beautiful greenery of the property provided the perfect backdrop for the first look.
Ceremony at the Ranch
The ceremony space was beautifully set up by the Day of Diva team who brought Amelia and Edward’s wedding vision to life. The stunning pink, white and green floral arrangements by Ikebanna lined the aisle and were the focal point of the space. The smokey haze left a soft mountain view in the distance. The ceremony was officiated by a close friend, which added another personal touch to their day. Overall, their ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with so much love and emotion.
Cocktail Hour
Following their ceremony, Amelia and Edward greeted guests with a champagne toast. One of the highlights of cocktail hour was the piñata. The piñata was the first culturally significant portion of the day that brought Edward’s Mexican heritage into the festivities. Once everyone had some time to mingle and have some lunch, a piñata was hung off the tent. Guests took turns hitting the piñata until Amelia’s brother was finally the one to break it open.
Portraits At The Ranch
Next were portraits at the ranch before heading back to Calgary for the reception. Amelia had the most beautiful textured blusher veil, which of course needed its own moment. In addition, parasols were provided for guests during the ceremony. This was a fun accessory to include for portraits.
Reception at Teatro
Amelia and Edward’s reception was in the Opera Room at Teatro. The Opera Room offers and intimate dining space which is perfect for intimate weddings. Shortly after their grand entrance, an Indigenous drummer performed a song, which was a beautiful way to incorporate Amelia’s Indigenous heritage into the day. Following dinner, we briefly stepped out for sunset portraits. They cut their beautiful heart shaped cake covered in raspberries following their sunset portraits. After the cake cut, Amelia surprised Edward’s family by hiring a live mariachi band for a performance to get the festivities under way.
Final Thoughts On Amelia and Edward’s Intimate Rafter Six And Teatro Wedding
Overall, Amelia and Edward’s intimate Rafter Six and Teatro wedding was intentionally planned to beautifully blend two cultures together. Intimate weddings are some of my favourite weddings to photograph. Don’t get me wrong, I love a big party, but intimate weddings aren’t afraid to break from tradition to focus on what’s truly important. Whether it’s not having a wedding party or cutting a wedding tradition that doesn’t align, couples opting for intimate weddings aren’t afraid to do things their way.
