Vegas Inspired Wedding
Paige and Zac brought the vibes for their Vegas inspired wedding.
Paige & Zac’s Intimate Vegas inspired wedding – The Morning Of
Paige and Zac planned one of the coolest weddings I photographed last year. Their Vegas inspired wedding, complete with the kitschy light up heart background we’ve seen at Sure Thing Chapel (that Zac had built himself) was the focal point that was the driving force behind the theme. Leaning into their unconventional and alternative style, Paige and Zac’s outfits really showcased their personalities. Their matching jackets were such a special touch. Their wedding invitations were hand drawn and screen printed by some very talented artistic friends of theirs.
Paige and Zac got ready separately with their friends and family. Our plan was to meet downtown for their first look in Inglewood to be close to their venue. Zac wore a western style fringe shirt with a bolo tie. His black leather motorcycle jacket with red roses and a “til death” patch added a touch of moody romance. On the other hand, Paige reminded me of a barbie! Her pink fringe jumpsuit with white satin heels was to die for! Her white fringe jacket mirrored the patches on the back of Zac’s jacket with a few complimentary designs – Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.
First Look & Portraits
Paige and Zac had their first look just outside of Plant in Inglewood. Leaning fully into authenticity, Paige and Zac’s first look was also more unconventional than a traditional first look. Rather than the staged tap on the shoulder, Paige said she wanted it to feel more organic. The plan was for her to come around the corner with Zac already facing towards her. As a result, I captured some of the sweetest first reaction to Zac seeing her for the first time as she walked towards him.
For their portraits, we explored the neighbourhood finding interesting alley ways, interesting walls and shops. Finally, we ended up in a record store to take some time not only browsing, but to take a few more photos in a more interesting location. I love ensuring that each couple’s portrait photos have a good amount of variety between locations if possible.
Wedding Party
Shortly after Paige and Zac’s couple portraits, their wedding party was waiting to greet us back at Plant. The front of the store offered not only excellent light but an fun backdrop for some creative portraits. I loved the mismatched outfits of the wedding party. It allowed each person to express their individuality while still looking cohesive.
Ceremony
Paige and Zac’s ceremony was at Inglewood Community Hall. Their wedding party did an absolutely incredible job decorating the space with colourful streamers. The heart backdrop that Zac had built was incredible! In lieu of flower girls, Paige and Zac had their grandmothers step in, which was such a sweet way to include them in their ceremony.
Reception
Paige and Zac were excitedly greeted by their guests following the ceremony. Cocktail hour followed the ceremony. There was a temporary tattoo station at their reception which was a hit with all of their guests. The tattoo designs were drawn by one of Paige’s bridesmaids who is a tattoo artist. Additionally, all of the other details like the heart shaped paper and markers allowed guests to leave them sweet messages. By the end of the night, their welcome sign was adorned with all of the well wishes from their guests.
Final Thoughts On Paige & Zac’s Vegas inspired wedding
Overall, Paige and Zac’s Vegas inspired wedding is a testament to breaking with tradition if it does not align with you. Don’t feel like you need to conform to the wedding industry in order to have a wedding. Your wedding can look like whatever you want. In this case, being intentional with your choices and being true to yourself is exactly what made Paige and Zac’s day unique to them. At the end of the day, you are marrying your best friend and that’s the important part. So why not make it cool if you want to?
