Kananaskis Golf Course Wedding
A perfect autumn wedding at Kananaskis Golf Course blending timeless elegance and authenticity.
Chrissie & Preston’s Kananaskis Golf Course Wedding – The Morning Of
Chrissie and Preston planned a beautiful Kananaskis Golf Course wedding in October. It was thanksgiving weekend and in true Calgary fashion, there was a huge snowstorm forecast for that evening. You definitely wouldn’t think that given the beautiful sunny day. I captured this day on both digital and film
Chrissie and Preston got ready at separate hotels in Canmore before heading off for their first look. Preston and his groomsmen looked incredibly dapper, opting for classic black tuxedos and black bow ties. Chrissie and the girls looked incredibly stunning! Mountain Beauties did an absolutely incredible job with hair and makeup. The bridesmaids wore elegant black gowns, varying in style.
First Look
Chrissie and Preston shared a private first look in Canmore, not far from where they got ready. After taking some time to soak in a moment together, we headed back to the main lobby of The Malcom. Shuttle busses were waiting to take Chrissie, Preston and their families to Wedge Pond for a few portraits before their ceremony at Kananaskis Golf Course.
Wedding Party Portraits at Wedge Pond
Wedge Pond offered a stunning backdrop for Chrissie and Preston’s wedding party portraits! The classic white rose bouquets looked incredibly elegant with the black bridesmaids gowns. One of my favourite creative portraits we did was at the golf course following the ceremony. We really leaned into the Vogue vibes for a more formal, editorial portrait.
Portraits At Wedge Pond
As the day progressed, there was some increased cloud cover as the weather was changing. Luckily for us, the snow held off until the evening and we had some beautiful light for Chrissie and Preston’s formal portraits. Inhale Floral Rentals did an absolutely stunning job with all of the florals. From white roses to delicate baby’s breath and pops of green eucalyptus, the florals were elegant and timeless.
Kananaskis golf course wedding ceremony
Chrissie and Preston had a picturesque mountain backdrop for their ceremony. A delicate fabric sign welcomed guests as they arrived. Floral hedges lined the rows and sage green ribbon tied to every other chair gently blew in the breeze. A gorgeous floral ground arch offered an elegant focal point without distracting from the natural scenery.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Cocktail hour and reception were held in the Robert Trent Jones Pavilion at the Kananaskis Golf Course. Chrissie and Preston’s beautifully delicate wedding sign was moved from the ceremony site to greet guests at the entrance of the pavillion. Once guests took their seats, Chrissie and Preston made their grand entrance as husband and wife. Immediately following was their first dance, followed by a few toasts throughout dinner. We ended the evening with their cake cut. Once all the formalities of the evening were complete, the dance floor opened.
Final Thoughts on Chrissie & Preston’s Kananaskis Golf Course Wedding
Overall, Chrissie and Preston’s wedding day was nothing short of perfect! Not only did they luck out with the weather during the day, but also the beautiful fall colours the rockies had to offer. Celebrating with their closest friends and family, Chrissie and Preston’s day was filled with so much love. From their welcome party from the night before to the wedding day, the words and stories their loved ones shared about the couple were fun and heartwarming. It’s truly an honour to be invited to capture such special memories filled with so much love and emotion.
